The War of the four Gems is a fictional war within the Encantadia universe,^[1] That followed the Great Encantadian War and the Lirean war, It is an ongoing conflict between roughly 20,000 to 30,000 Encantadian troops of allied kingdoms of Lireo, Adamya, Sapiro and between 150.000 to 350,000 Hathorian troops, It is the third largest war of Encantadia, It resulted in a continued state of constant fighting between the two opposing forces, that has broken centuries of peace in the realms ^[2]

Cause

After the Lirean war all the gems were given to Queen Mother Mine-a of Lireo for safekeeping. But danger lurks when the Queen Mother has to leave the realm and should choose a successor among her four daughters Amihan, Danaya, Alena and Pirena. She chooses Amihan, named after her dead sister, and this leads the disgruntled Pirena to rebel, steal the fire gemstone and side with the Hathors^[3][4]

First Battle

Placing her army of 10,000 Encantadian troops in the beaches of the Avisalan southern coast, Amihan ordered her soldiers to plant wooden spikes and place bomb barrels filled with gun powder in the beach heads. Several days later, 120,000 Hathorian troops led by King Hagorn and the traitorous Pirena began to descend on the beaches. The trap was sprung and the bomb laced barrels were detonated, killing several thousand Hathorians and injuring tens of thousands more. The Encantadian troops led by Queen Amihan along with her loyal sisters Danaya and Alena then emerged from the nearby forest and fought hand-to-hand, repelling consecutive waves of enemy troops charging across the beaches. During this fight Amihan was wounded by Pirena.

After the battle, the demoralized Hathorian soldiers retreated. The Encantadian side suffered hundreds of casualties with thousands wounded. The Hathorian side suffered tens of thousands of casualties and tens of thousands more wounded. In addition, 50,000 Hathorians were captured.

Palace coup

After the battle and the death of Queen Mother Mine-a, Pirena feign reconciliation with Queen Amihan and was allowed to return to Lireo,but secretly she was planning a revolt, Pirena held a series of secret meetings with several disgruntled Lirean leaders.The rouge leaders agreed, thus providing another opportunity for another Hathorian military invasion against Lireo

Hathoria occupies Lireo

Pirena launched a palace coup,overwhelming the palace guards,while another big Hathorian army invades Lireo,out numbered and outflanked the Lirean forces were forced to retreat to Sapiro,while in the palace Queen Amihan was seriously wounded but was able to escape the clutches of Pirena and King Hagorn,The Hathorians now occupies the palace while the rest of the Lirean army were regrouping in Sapiro^[5] in preparation for a counter attack to take back the Lirean capital^[6][7][8]

The Queen Pretender

Claiming the crown of Lireo as the new Queen,Pirena with Hathorian military support goes after Amihan and her regrouping encantadian armies in Sapiro,raiding and destroying several encantadian camps but failed to annihilate Queen Amihan's army,which is slowly growing in military strength as more encantadians joins her forces,in addition Danaya has also rejoined the encantadian resistance boosting morale further,while desperation is brewing within Pirena's armies as they still failed to destroy Amihan's forces,mainly for this fact Pirena's forces committed many atrocities and massacres against the people of Lireo in particular against the Mulawin tribes (bird-men) of northern Lireo,they also attacked the barbarian tribes of Sapiro,which they suspect are aiding Queen Amihan's forces

The war of the Queens

Adhara the former queen of Lireo before being banished and replaced by Minea as Queen of the Diwatas has returned after successfully leading a revolt in her prison island of Carcero (A prison island for condemned Diwatas) she has been imprisoned for more than 1,000 years ,she has raised an army of her own bent on taking back the Lirean crown for herself (She also has her own champion the great warrior known as Lilasari ) ,making the war a three way conflict not only against Amihan's army but also against Hathoria and the pretender queen Pirena^[9][10]

The killing of Adhara

Soon the Adharan army comes into direct blows with the forces of Queen Amihan,in the ensuing fight Amihan kills Adhara in single combat,The so-called Adharan army came effectively under the control of Adhara's top champion Lilasari

Pirena dethroned

King Hagorn seeing that he can no longer trust Pirena has chosen a new Queen and married Adhara's former champion Lilasari effectively absorbing the Adharan army into his fold. Pirena was expelled out of Lireo, he now feels strong enough to attack Queen Amihan's army in full force.

Hathorian offensive against Sapiro

Hathorian spies soon found out the exact location of Amihan's main base areas in Sapiro.Soon 100,000 Hathorian troops were marching into Sapiro led by King Hagorn himself,the forces of Amihan which has now grown to 30,000 troops met them head on in savage fighting ,despite being greatly outnumbered, the Encantadians held off the Hathorian advance,inflicting heavy losses on the enemy,eventually forcing them back to Lireo. Many heroes and commanders from both sides died in the battle, but Queen Amihan's army remains intact despite some heavy losses inflicted by the Harhorians

Hathorian Empire

Hathoria now controls not only Lireo but Adamya as well bringing much of Encantadia under its iron rule,Lirean forces under Queen Amihan controls most of the former kingdom of Sapiro as well as the territories of Askano,Adjertao,Avila and some parts of Ayleb. Hathorian armies are now preparing a second great offensive into Sapiro hoping to annihilate Queen Amihan's armies once and for all

Kimg Hagorn again launched an offensive against Sapero,but his army columns were ambushed by Queen Amihan's forces in the thick forest of southern Sapiro,Hagorn was seriously wounded by Queen Amihan in the fierce fighting,the Hathorian armies were again forced to retreat back to Lireo. Now Queen Amihan herself is readying her armies for an invasion of Lireo itself
