Twin Lakes is a census-designated place (CDP) in Adams County, Colorado, United States. The population was 6,101 at the 2010 census.[1]
Geography
Twin Lakes is located at 39°49′30″N 105°0′16″W / 39.82500°N 105.00444°W (39.825086, -105.004320).[2] The altitude of Twin Lakes is approximately 5220 ft (1582 m) above sea level, about the same as downtown Denver.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.3 km2), of which 0.015 square miles (0.04 km2), or 1.02%, is water.[1]

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 6,301 people, 2,156 households, and 1,569 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 3,776.9 people per square mile (1,456.8/km²). There were 2,185 housing units at an average density of 1,309.7 per square mile (505.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 77.02% White, 0.78% African American, 1.48% Native American, 3.43% Asian, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 13.60% from other races, and 3.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 49.33% of the population.
There were 2,156 households out of which 32.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.1% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.2% were non-families. 20.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.92 and the average family size was 3.31.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18, 12.0% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 18.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 113.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 115.7 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $38,536, and the median income for a family was $41,424. Males had a median income of $31,336 versus $24,832 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $15,923. About 11.2% of families and 16.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.5% of those under age 18 and 6.8% of those age 65 or over.
