Richard Todd (horn player)
Richard Todd is a film, jazz, pop/rock and European classical horn (French horn) player working in Hollywood, CA and Miami, Florida. Todd has recorded on over 1,000 motion picture soundtracks, appeared and recorded with Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and Madonna. He has recorded as a jazz artist with Clark Terry, Ray Brown and Woody Herman.[1]
He was a gold medal winner at the 1980 Concours Internationale Toulon and a Pro Musicis International Foundation Award winner. Gunther Schuller personally selected him to record his Concerto No. 1 for Horn and Orchestra with the Saarbrucken Radio Orchestra.[1]
Todd is Principal Horn of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and Associate Professor of Horn at the University of Miami Frost School of Music.[1]
