Oxalis is an unincorporated community in Fresno County, California.^[1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 6.5 miles (10 km) northwest of Firebaugh,^[2] at an elevation of 138 feet (42 m).^[1]

Officials of the railroad bestowed the name Oxalis, which is the Latin name for wood sorrel.^[2]
