KPEL-FM (96.5 FM, "NewsTalk 96.5") is a radio station licensed to the community of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and serving the Lafayette, Louisiana area. The station is owned by Townsquare Media and licensed to Townsquare Media of Lafayette, LLC. It airs a news/talk format.[1]

The station was assigned the KPEL-FM call letters by the Federal Communications Commission on March 16, 1999.[2]

The station switched frequencies to 96.5 FM effective June 25, 2010.

Programming

The station has a talk radio format. Local shows include Mornings with Ken and Bernie and the Afternoon Drive Home with Jeremy Lawrence. The rest of the schedule features several syndicated programs such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, The Dennis Miller Show, The Dave Ramsey Show and The Louisiana-based Moon Griffon Show. The station shares news at the top of every hour featuring Fox News Radio along with business reports from Fox Business and The Wall Street Journal Report. In addition, there are local reports throughout the day.
