Hutt Street, Adelaide

London plane trees with strong shade canopies are a prominent feature of Hutt Street throughout its length.

Hutt Street (34°55′34″S 138°36′43″E / 34.926°S 138.612°E / -34.926; 138.612) is a main road on the eastern boundary of the central business district (CBD) of Adelaide,[1] South Australia. It runs north-south, from Pirie Street, and can be considered a branch of East Terrace. It runs to South Terrace, where it becomes Hutt Road.

Hutt Street was named after Sir William Hutt, an early South Australian pioneer, and a commissioner for the foundation of the state.[2] Today, the street is known for its Colonial-era buildings, which are considered to be of architectural significance. It is also home to many restaurants and boutiques.
