Frankenstein, Missouri
Frankenstein is an unincorporated community in northwestern Osage County, Missouri, USA.[1] It is located about 20 km (12 mi) east of Jefferson City.
A post office called Frankenstein was established in 1893, and remained in operation until 1921.[2] The community most likely derives its name from Godfried Franken, a pioneer citizen.[3]

Frankenstein, Missouri is also the title of a feature length film from Moonhunt Productions, LLC, written and directed by Joey Odendahl and starring Joey Odendahl, Kaiser Johnson, Andrew Weir, Nikki Brower and Kevin O'Brien. It is a docufiction film (mixing real and fictional elements to create a story) that some actual residents of Frankenstein took part in the making of.[4][5]
