Athletics

Basketball

The Fossil Ridge Panthers are the reigning 6-4A champions in basketball having posted a 29-4 record and a 16-0 record in district play. The Panthers are also the reigning 5-5A champions. The program had made 3 playoff appearances: 2000-2001, 2001–2002, 2002–2003. The program also went through a coaching change following back-to-back division championships. Head coach Brad Mouser left the Panthers to coach at Timber Creek High School. As a result, assistant coach Zack Myers took over the program.

Football

Fossil Ridge currently has two freshmen teams (Black and Gold), one junior varsity team (Gold), and a varsity team. The teams play at the Keller Sports Complex, which includes an artificial turf field and sits directly across the street from Keller High School.

In 2005, Fossil Ridge went back to the playoffs for the first time since the 2002 season, but only made it as far as the first round, suffering a 35-20 defeat to Trinity High School, the 2005 Class 5A state champions. The 2006 varsity game received online video coverage from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and KXAS NBC 5. In 2006, Fossil Ridge was reclassified to Class 4A, and was reclassified again in 2008 back to Class 5A. Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, Fossil Ridge has been reclassified to 6A. Fossil Ridge won three consecutive games against rival Keller High School (2000–2003) and six of the eleven games played from 1996–2008. The Panthers also defeated their other district rival, Central High School, in the 2008 season.

Other sports offered at Fossil Ridge include baseball, softball, track and field, wrestling, power lifting, volleyball, tennis, golf, basketball, soccer, swimming and diving, bowling, rodeo, cross country, and ice hockey (district-wide team).
