Estépar is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 797 inhabitants.
Mass grave
Estépar is the site of multiple mass graves, first discovered by the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory in 2014.[1] The graves contained the remains of at least 70 republicans who were killed by nationalists in August–September 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.[2][3]
