Charles Anthony Swainson

Charles Anthony Swainson (1820–1887) was an English theologian, Norrisian and subsequently Lady Margaret's Professor of Divinity,Master of Christ's College, Cambridge and a canon of Chichester.[1][lower-alpha 1] His published works deal mainly with the Eastern Liturgies and the Creeds.

  1. He should not be confused with the Reverend Charles Swainson M.A., Rector of Old Charlton and author of A handbook of weather folk-lore; being a collection of proverbial sayings in various languages relating to the weather (1873) and Provincial names and folk lore of British birds (1885).
