Bradley "Brad" Stuver (born April 16, 1991) is an American soccer player who currently plays goalkeeper for Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer.
Career
College & Youth
Stuver played four years of college soccer at Cleveland State University between 2009 and 2012. While at college Stuver also appeared for USL PDL clubs Cleveland Internationals in 2010 and Akron Summit Assault in 2011.[1][2]
Professional
On January 17, 2013 Stuver was drafted in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by Montreal Impact.[3] However, he wasn't signed by the club. Stuver went on to become a MLS Pool Goalkeeper for the 2013 MLS season, appearing on the bench for Chivas USA, New England Revolution and Columbus Crew.[4]
Stuver was selected by Columbus Crew in the 2013 MLS Waiver Draft.[5] He was later loaned out to their USL Pro affiliate club Dayton Dutch Lions on March 12, 2014[6] and made his debut for them on May 25, 2014 against Sacramento Republic. He played in one regular season contest for the Lions and played in the two US Open Cup games against Schwaben AC and Indy Eleven. After undergoing ankle surgery in June 2014 he was re-loaned to the Wilmington Hammerheads of USL Pro where he made his debut on August 9, 2014 against his former team the Dayton Dutch Lions.[7] Stuver started 11 games with the Hammerheads and kept 4 shutouts and helped the Hammerheads make it to the first round of the USL Pro playoffs where they were beaten by USL Pro champions, the Sacramento Republic.[8]
In the 2015 MLS season, he was promoted to the backup role for Columbus Crew SC . He played in their international friendly against Valencia CF in their 1-0 loss.[9] He also played in their 2 US Open Cup games against the Richmond Kickers[10] and Orlando City SC.[11]
