Bangladesh–Ireland relations refer to the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Ireland. Diplomatic relations between the two countries have been identified friendly with both the countries working towards strengthening it further.[1]
Economic cooperation
Bangladesh and Ireland have shown mutual interest to expand the bilateral economic activities between the two countries[2] and both the countries have recognized necessary measures to expand the existing trade and investment.[3] Many Irish firms have expressed their interests to invest in Bangladesh in the promising sectors.[4][5]
In 2009, an Irish trade delegation headed by former Irish Minister for investment and coordination Conor Lenihan paid a visit to Bangladesh to explore potential ways for increasing bilateral trade and investment.[6] Ireland has shown interest to recruit skilled IT professionals from Bangladesh.[7]

Migrants
There is small Bangladeshi Migrant group in Ireland.[9] They run Indian Restaurants and Takeaways.[10][11] 99 Bangladeshis applied for asylum in Ireland in 2014 and 2015 the number rose to 231.[12] Some of the Bangladeshis are Illegal immigrants.[13][14][15] Bangladesh-born Maksuda Akter won Ms Ireland Beauty Pageant 2014.[16]
Sports
Bangladesh and Ireland are both test cricket playing nations. Matches are often held between them. [17]
Diplomatic Relations
Ireland and Bangladesh don't have resident High Commissioners in each other's countries. Ireland's High Commissioner to India is accredited to Bangladesh also. Bangladesh High Commissioner to UK is also accredited to Ireland.[18][19]
