The 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division is the 33rd season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The league begin on 3 March 2017
Dundalk are the current champions having won the league last season for the third year in a row.
Overview
The Premier Division consisted of 12 teams. Each team played each other three times, a total of 33 matches in the season.
Limerick, the 2016 First Division champion and Drogheda United, winners the promotion/relegation playoffs, were both promoted to the league, bouncing straight back having both been relegated the previous season.
