The 2015–16 season will be Gillingham's 123rd season in their existence and third consecutive season in League One.[1] Along with League One, the club will also compete in the FA Cup, League Cup, Football League Trophy and the regional Kent Senior Cup. The season covers the period from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016.

Pre-season friendlies

On 5 May 2015, It was announced that Gillingham would travel to Tonbridge Angels in a pre-season friendly.[28] Also confirmed was a Home friendly against Brighton & Hove Albion on 29 July 2015.[29] On 11 May 2015, it was confirmed that Gillingham would travel to Folkestone Invicta on 7 July 2015.[30] On 12 May 2015, Gillingham announced they would visit Faversham Town on 4 August 2015.[31] On 19 May 2015, Gillingham added Bromley to the list of pre-season fixtures.[32] On 28 May 2015, Gillingham announced that Portsmouth will visit on 1 August 2015.[33] On 17 June 2015, Gillingham announced they will travel to Dover Athletic on 25 July 2015.[34]

League Cup

On 16 June 2015, the first round draw was made, Gillingham were drawn away against Plymouth Argyle.[36] In the second round, Gillingham were drawn away to Birmingham City.[37]

Football League Trophy

On 5 September 2015, the second round draw was shown live on Soccer AM and drawn by Charlie Austin and Ed Skrein. Gillingham are to host Luton Town.[38]

FA Cup

Kent Senior Cup

On 6 August 2015, Gillingham announced they will face either Dartford or Welling United in the second round.[39]
