Yanic Simard is a Canadian design expert and television personality. He is the principal designer and founder of the Toronto Interior Design Group and a regular guest expert[1] on leading Canadian talk show CityLine, presenting design focused segments, including his popular recurring Instant Makeover segment.[2] He is also a recurring guest on City network's Breakfast Television programs across Canada.[3]
Simard is also a writer for Canadian news publications, such as the Huffington Post[4] and the Toronto Sun,[5] frequent contributor to design magazines Style at Home, Home and Décor and Reno & Décor,[6] as well as being the design editor for Canadian publication New Condo Guide.[7]
His biography from the Huffington Post describes his early design career as so:
"Yanic Simard comes from a long line of industry professionals in Montreal that based their successes on the fact that good design and quality workmanship are the cornerstones to the art of living. Yanic has synthesized his experience in the building trade with his unrivaled creative talent to found the Toronto Interior Design Group (TIDG)—one of Canada’s leading design firms.
The road to design success for Yanic did however take some detours along the way. After exploring Interior Design in Montreal, he spent several years in television where he enjoyed a successful career as a reporter for an entertainment show.
Despite a promising career in media, Yanic never abandoned his love for Interior Design. A keen market observer for small spaces and creative thinker, he came to believe that small spaces and Transitional Design was the way of the future—which became the modus operandi for the Toronto Interior Design Group itself."[8]
