X-Change 2 is a Japanese erotic game produced by Crowd and distributed in English by Peach Princess. A remake of the game, X-Change 2 R was later produced by Crowd, but Peach Princess has stated they do not intend to market this game.

Given Synopsis

In X-Change 2, you play for the next time as Takuya Aihara, the student at Miyanomori Chemistry School, who's afraid about changing into "a new, partially familiar self". When a strange chemical turned your thoughts into Maiko's last year, you had a bizarre string of experiences as you had her thoughts in your brain. Now, one year later, you're enjoying your school life with Asuka, your best friend. But as a failed moment approaches near, a chemistry club member, Chisato, uses you as a lab rat for a new experiment, which turns your thoughts around again!

As a girl, you find you're much more popular than before, but with practically everyone around you asking to be with you, there'll be too much in your life.

This dating-sim adventure features a large amount of characters, old and new, as the game goes on. The shy boy Kouji, whose virginity you took last year on the roof of the school, has him waiting for his chance all the time. Then there's Mr. Sano, the teacher known for his interest in his students, and he's curious about you. What will you do when you encounter Maiko-chan, whose thoughts have turned to yours? What about the shy Megumi, who says that she's dreaming about your problem when it's actually real? And while all this is going on, you're trying to keep your relationship with Asuka intact, which isn't easy. The most dangerous situation is that the changes to you will last if it's too late—but how can you find a way to have your mind react like yourself again?

Gameplay

As the game unfolds, the player makes various decisions at set in the game. These choices lead to different interactions with the multiple characters throughout the game.

Throughout the game the character is worried and has unusual moments with many different people. Some examples of the familiar scenes related to the original games include: being seriously discovered by Koji while waiting for Takuya's school uniform to dry, the substitute teacher looking closely at the main character in the school equipment room, Mr. Terada is feeling weird while he conducts a uniform inspection after finding out that she came to school looking all dirty, and Takuya following around a student during a tutoring session.

The game has multiple endings, some with Takuya returning to his real self and remaining with Asuka, and others where he chooses another person to make friends with instead or even no one at all. There is also the option to remain with Maiko's real self as Takuya becomes more and more comfortable with these emotions and the sensations which come with it, sometimes staying with one of the characters in the game.

Music Composition

The game has a large number of background music tracks, and two vocals sung by Aki, of I've Sound. These make up the opening and ending songs, respectably "Soyokaze no Yukue" and "Ima.. kono jyuukan ga" (今この瞬間が…) This features many misspellings, in the game it is titled, "Ima.. kono toki ga," while on the album it is usually titled, "Ima.. kono jikan ga".
