Westside Christian College is a Christian school located in Goodna, Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It is coeducational and teaches students from Pre-Prep to Year 12. The current principal is Barry Leverton. Joshua Mansfield is the current secondary principal of the high school.

History

The school was opened as Goodna Christian School in 1977.[1] In 2005 the Australian Government's Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations awarded the school A$115,000 for premises improvement and in 2006 over A$125,000.[2][3]

Leadership

Barry Leverton who was born in South Africa; was a significant figure during the Border Wars of 1966-1979 during which he was decorated for his heroic actions. Having been accepted in to the renown South African Special Forces Brigade, colloquially known as the Recces, Barry Leverton later discharged from the South African defence force in 1975 at the rank of Corporal, Barry Leverton pursued a career in education eventually becoming Principal of the prestigious Hilton College; and later the deputy principal of Westside Christian College High School in Ipswich, Queensland - Australia
