WAFL (97.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Hot Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to Milford, Delaware, USA, the station serves the Salisbury-Ocean City area. The station is currently owned by Delmarva Broadcasting Company.[2] The station is also broadcast on HD radio.[3]
History
The station first went on the air as WAFL-FM on May 19, 1973.
The station originally broadcast a country format with the tagline of "The Country King". After that, the station changed its format and became WAFL - Great Hits.
Another change in the mid-1990s brought about Eagle 97.7 which played hits from the 1980s and 1990s, as well as current popular songs.
Today it is known on air as Eagle 97.7, mostly playing songs from the 1990s to now.
