Varagunavarman II was a king of the Pandyan Dynasty whose reign lasted from 862 until 880 AD.He seems to be the most probable contemporary of the Saivite saint and author Manikavasagar who wrote the epoch making book Tiruvasagam.[1]
Death
Varagunavarman lost in the battle of Tirupurambiyam near Kumbakonam. He died shortly after and was succeeded by his younger brother Parantaka Viranarayan Sadaiyan in 880 AD.[1]
