The University of Santo Tomas Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy, or "UST Accountancy", is the school of accountancy and management accounting of the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, in the Philippines.
It had the highest pass rate in the Philippine Certified Public Accountants licensure examinations in 2007,[2] and the second-highest in 2009.[3] The college is named after Alfredo M. Velayo, an alumnus of the university and the co-founder of the SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co.
History
The School of Commerce of the University of Santo Tomas offered an accountancy program from 1933. The degree was then known as Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting (BSC Acctg.).
On November 10, 2004, the accountancy department of the College of Commerce became the Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy, the first degree-granting unit of the University named for an alumnus.
