Udayanatham (East) is a village in the Udayarpalayam taluk of Ariyalur district, Tamil Nadu, India.

Demographics

According to the 2000 census, Udayanatham (East) had a total population of 1,486 people which included 742 males and 744 females.[1]

Government

Local government consists of the Jayankondam assembly constituency and the Chidambaram (sc) parliamentary assembly.[2] Government facilities include the Government High school, Government Hospital, State Bank Of India (ATM available), Primary Agriculture Co. Bank, Hand Loom Weaver Society, Rani Mahal (Marriage Hall) Grocery Stores, Tea Stalls, Fancy Stores, Hardware Store, Mortgage Stores, Small Mechanic Shop, Medical Facilities, Vegetables Shops and Bakery.[3]

Streets

Udayanatham is made of several streets, consisting of North Street, South Street, Post Office Street, Iyyapan Street, Chettiyar Street, Gavarai Street (Naidu Street), Kollaramman Kovil Street, and New Street.

Temples

The Temple Maga Kumbaabishegam was held on September 16th, 2013. The Temple Kumbaabishem was started by a committee which was headed by Kadi Mr. V. Balasubramanian. Other committee members include Kojjam K.P.N.Panneerselvam (Treasurer), Kompala G.Narayanasamy, Channa Dr. Soma. Loganathan, Konguputhi, N.Ekambaram, Kojjam K.Selvaraju, Channa K.Sekar and Thukkani K. Govindarajan. Kumbaabishegam was a grand event and all pujas and festivals are held on a regular basis. The community of Devanga have given their full support and cooperation to this venture.

Ayyanar Temple (North) Mariyamman Temple (Udayanatham nearby 1 km Dinakudi) Kaliyamman Temple (Main Road) Veeran Temple Srinivasa Perumal Koil built on Gavarai street in the year 2015. The cost of constructing this temple was taken up by Mr. E. Chakkaravathi, son of late Ethirajulu naidu. Mr. E. Chakkaravathi also pays for the daily puja expenses.
