Trixie Maristela (born April 30, 1985) is a transgender woman,[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] LGBT rights advocate,[8] actress, beauty queen and a European language graduate.

Career

Maristela had joined several beauty pageants, appeared on several TV shows for guestings and starred on TV programs.

In May 2014, she joined Philippines's most prestigious transgender beauty pageant in national television, Eat Bulaga's Super Sireyna Worldwide. She had a chance to compete with other transgender beauty icons from all around the world. She ended as 1st Runner-Up. The crown was won by Miss saHHara of Nigeria.[9]

In May 2015, she joined the first ever Miss Gay Manila. She crowned as the first ever winner of that pageant.[10]

In October 2015, Maristela and Art Sta. Ana launched a book named He's Dating The Transgender. The book is all about a boy that fell in loved with a transgender.[11]

In November 2015, she joined Miss International Queen, the world's largest and most prestigious transgender beauty pageant in Pattaya, Thailand. She crowned as the winner.[12]

In February 2016, Maristela starred on GMA's drama anthology series Karelasyon. It was her first acting exposure on television. She played the role of "Queen", who is a transgender woman that never stops loving despite of a complicated love life. She also starred in another drama anthology series Magpakailanman, this episode features the real life story of Maristela.[13][14]

Education

Maristela studied European languages (major in Spanish, minor in French) in UP Diliman.
