The Traverse City Premium Outlets, a.k.a. Horizon Outlets were an outlet mall in Garfield Township. Its major outlets were Old Navy, Gap, Kitchen Collection, and the Horizon Cinema.
Redevelopment
The property, formerly known as Horizon Outlets Traverse City, was purchased in 2008 by TC Partners. At the time, the center was 50 percent vacant.[2]
In 2014, redevelopment began on the center. Gap Inc. relocated both its Gap and Old Navy outlets to Grand Traverse Mall, while the Famous Footwear store was consolidated with the one in that mall, and an outlet store specializing in L'eggs, Hanes, Bali, and Playtex was closed.[3] Redevelopment plans were announced in 2015, which call for demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new movie theater, replacing the existing one operated by Carmike Cinemas. Among the businesses remaining from the old structure will be an Outback Steakhouse.[4]
