Tiruvalanchuzhi Valanchuzhinathar Temple
Tiruvalanchuzhi Valanchuzhinathar Temple is a Hindu temple situated in Tiruvalanchuzhi (also spelt as Thiruvalanjuli) near Swamimalai in Kumbakonam taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The presiding deity is Shiva. He is called as Valanjuzhinathar, Kabardeeswarar and Karpaganathar. His consort is Periyanayaki.
Significance
It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams - Shiva Sthalams glorified in the early medieval Tevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanar saints Tirunavukkarasar and Thirugnana Sambandar.
Literary Mention
Tirunavukkarasar describes the feature of the deity of Tiruvalanchuzhi and Kottaiyur as:[1]

Other shrines
Swetha Vinayagar Temple and Bhairava shrine are found in this temple premises.The presence of Buddhist images from the Chola period in the temple show influence of Buddhist tradition in the region.[2]
