The Song of the Marines is a song written by Harry Warren (music) and Al Dubin (lyrics);[1] it was featured in the 1937 Warner Bros. film, The Singing Marine.[2] It is also featured in the 1942 cartoon Conrad the Sailor and is briefly sung by Daffy Duck in the 1953 cartoon Duck Amuck, both of which were produced by Warner Bros.' animation studio.[3] The song is also featured in the Warner Bros. cartoon "Snow Business," featuring Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird.[4]
In 1962, Dick Powell, star of The Singing Marine, reprised the song in a cameo appearance in an episode of Ensign O'Toole, a TV series owned by his production company.

In Conrad the Sailor, the lyrics in bold were changed to "We're leavin' today, it's anchors aweigh", to fit with the Navy.[5]
