The Asia Group LLC (TAG) is a strategy and capital advisory group based in Washington DC with an affiliated office in Hong Kong.[1] The firm was founded in 2013 by Dr. Kurt Campbell, the former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs and Nirav Patel, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Strategy and Multilateral Affairs. The company works with clients to identify, integrate and advance new business opportunities, as well as work with existing businesses to navigate the complexities of both established and emerging markets in Asia. The Asia Group is not a lobbying organization.
The Asia Group currently works with clients in leading East Asian markets including Japan, China, South Korea, and Taiwan, Southeast Asian markets including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, as well as Australia. TAG's clients are Fortune 100 multinationals based in North America, Europe, as well as Asia.
Philanthropy
The Asia Group is committed to philanthropy in the Asia-Pacific region, supporting Build a School in Burma and One World Children's Fund to rehabilitate and construct four schools in underserved communities in Myanmar.
In 2014, The Asia Group partnered with McKinsey & Company, Standard Chartered Bank, and others to host the year's Mekong Business Challenge Competition taking place in Vientiane, Laos.[2]
In response to the 2013 Super Typhoon Haiyan, The Asia Group supported the GlobalGiving Super Typhoon Hiayan Disaster Relief Fund, that funded relief workers in the immediate aftermath of the storm as well as longer-term locally-directed recovery efforts.
Certifications
The Asia Group holds a certificate of membership from TRACE International Inc. TRACE is a non-profit membership association that pools resources to provide practical and cost-effective anti-bribery compliance solutions for multinational companies and their commercial intermediaries (sales agents and representatives, consultants, distributors, suppliers, etc.). TAG is committed to transparency in international commercial transactions.
