Tee Hock Seng
Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng, JP (郑福成; born 1949) is a Malaysian businessman, currently served as the Group Managing Director of Bina Puri. He is an experienced entrepreneur with more than 40 years business acumen in trading, construction and development. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Group.
Career
Tee started off as a salesman with Chop Seng Lee, dealing in sales of Mobil Petroleum. Later, he was promoted to manager and was responsible on the marketing and sales of Mobil Petroleum.
In 1976, he left the company to venture into business and started Pembinaan Tekun Jaya Sdn Bhd that involved in construction sector. Teamed up with his brothers, Tay Hock Lee and Tee Hock Hin, and brought in some business associates into the company.
He was responsible for the merging of Pembinaan Tekun Jaya Sdn Bhd and Bina Puri Sdn Bhd (BPSB) in 1983. BPSB started off way back in 1975 by Dr Tony Tan Cheng Kiat and his friend, Syed Mansor Syed Salim, also involved in construction activities. The merger between the two companies, gave the company a new life where the activities became more focused and had helped BPSB securing more contracts.
Tee began his career with Bina Puri as a Finance Director in Bina Puri, was appointed to the Board on November 5, 1990 and was subsequently appointed as the Group Managing Director.
Later, in January 1995, he was also responsible for the listing of Bina Puri in Main Board, Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE) with an authorized capital of RM100 million and paid-up capital of RM40 million.
Bina Puri involves in numerous multi million Ringgit projects in excess of RM 2.0 billion which speaks vocally of the Group’s capability to handle a wide range of business activities.
The Group’s diverse business activities includes investment holdings, civil engineering and building construction, property development and management, quarrying, manufacture of ready-mix, bricks, retaining wall and related buildings materials, manufacture of chemical and glassware, energy project, BOT (build, operate and transfer) expressway, project management and insurance agency.
