Tanc Sade is an Australian actor, writer and director. Sade worked in several theater productions in Australia before landing a recurring role on Gilmore Girls in 2005. Sade founded Five Island Films in 2009 as a vehicle to launch his short films.
Early life
Sade was born in Sydney, Australia. He worked in the theatre while competing as a nationally-ranked cyclist. At 22 he retired from cycling to focus on acting where two years later he moved to Los Angeles.
Career
Sade rose to international attention playing the quirky role of "Finn" in the cult series Gilmore Girls. Creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino took a liking to Sade and created the role after he auditioned for the love interest Logan Huntzberger.
He is currently working on Roadies, the one-hour drama written and directed by Cameron Crowe and produced by JJ Abrams for Showtime.
Sade played the lead role of Alec Holester in Matador. The action series, from executive producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman which debuted in July, 2014 on Robert Rodriguez's new cable network and is composed of 13 hour-long episodes.
Sade recently starred in Childhood's End based on the Arthur C. Clarke novel of the same name. He also starred opposite Nicolas Cage in the movie Stolen and has appeared on Sons of Anarchy, The Mentalist, Body of Proof, 90210, CSI: Miami, and CSI: NY. He also wrote and directed Flowers and Weeds starring Academy Award Nominee and Golden Globe winner, Terence Stamp, and music from Academy Award winner Glen Hansard.
Athletic career
In 2012 Sade broke the Australian National Dynamic Freediving record by swimming 218 metres (715 ft) on a single breath of air.[1] He was later crowned Australian National champion of the same year.
In 2013 Sade broke the Australian National Dynamic No-fins record with a swim of 177 metres (581 ft).[2]
Sade competed on the Australian national circuit as a semi-professional mountain biker from 1998–2002.
He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
