Supabarn is a supermarket chain based in Canberra with shops across the Australian Capital Territory (Canberra) and New South Wales in Australia with its head office located in Braddon, Canberra. The chain has been in operation since 1994 and current turnover is $121 million in 2007[1]

Five Dock 2002 Closed May, 2016; replaced by Coles supermarket.
Florey -- Independently owned (Franchised). Branded as SupaExpress. Previously an IGA store.
Gymea 2008 Gymea has a trading space of 575sqm, and given that it is not a full-line supermarket, is branded as Supabarn Express.
Kaleen 2000 The Kaleen store had a trading space of 1850sqm. Closed May 2016; replaced by Coles Supermarket.
Kaleen 2012 Independently owned (Franchised). Branded as SupaExpress. Previously an IGA store.
Richardson -- Independently owned (Franchised). Branded as SupaExpress. Previously an IGA store.
Sans Souci. 2014
Wanniassa 2003 Supabarn took over the Wanniassa IGA in March 2003. In 2006, it expanded and completely refurbished the store.
Watson -- Independently owned (Franchised). Branded as Supabarn Express.

West Wyalong, NSW[4] Independently owned (franchised).
Karabar, NSW[5] Independently owned (franchised). In 2008, The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission blocked a bid by Woolworths to purchase Supabarn's Franchised store in Karabar, NSW.[6] This store had since been sold to another operator and rebranded as IGA.
Lake Cargelligo, NSW[7] Independently owned (franchised).
Kippax, ACT[8] As of 2016, a Woolworths store.
Chisholm ACT [9] As of 2016, a Coles stores.
Erindale, ACT[10] As of 2016, a Woolworths store.
Sutherland 2010-2016 Complex was built by subsidiary of Harvey Norman. Now a Coles store.

Layout

Supabarn supermarkets operate in a similar fashion to that of main competitors Woolworths and Coles. Departments include Administration, Service, Liquor, Grocery, Variety, Produce, Deli, Seafood, Bakery and Perishables [11]

Expansion

Supabarn plans to open two further stores in Canberra in the suburbs of Kingston and Casey[12]

Supabarn Motorsports

Supabarn also has a motorsports team, who compete in various competitions, including the Carrera Cup[13]

Community involvement

In 2007, Supabarn was recognized for making over $1,000,000 in donations to their local community.[14]

Supabarn is currently a sponsor of the Canberra Raiders NRL Team[15]
