Splendid Microfinance Bank Limited

The Splendid Microfinance Bank is a Nigerian bank based in Abuja concentrating on alleviation and eradication of poverty. It is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide micro-finance banking services to the banking public.

Since its establishment the bank has distributed 100 Million naira to the public as part of a strategy to increase the participation of government in micro finance funding. In 2005 the Central Bank of Nigeria came up with a regulatory framework urging states and local governments to set aside at least 1% of their annual budget to micro-credit initiative through micro-finance banks.
