Retropubic space is the extraperitoneal space between the pubic symphysis and urinary bladder. The retropubic space is preperitoneal space, behind the transversalis fascia and in front of peritoneum.
It is also known as "Cave of Retzius" or "Retzius' space", after Anders Retzius.
