Skelani Massacre

The Skelani massacre refers to the killing of 69 Serbian victims in Skelani near Srebrenica , eastern Bosnia.^[1][2] Authorities and media accuses the Bosnian Muslims for this massacre.^[3]

16 January 1993 soldiers of the Army of Bosnia (Bosnian Muslims) attacked the village of Skelani.^[4][5] 69 people were killed, 185 were wounded.^[6][7] Among the victims there were 6 children.^[8][9] The youngest victim was Aleksandar Dimitijević who was 4 years old.^[10][11] Children were killed by sniper fire.^[12][13] 30 people were taken to the camps and there they were tortured.^[14][15]

Witness the tragedy Cvetko Kusic said: "This attack was led by a Muslim commander Naser Oric.^[16] The Muslim soldiers killed 29 men, 34 women and 6 children.^[17] They destroyed and burned 450 houses, an Orthodox church and a cemetery.^[18] They killed my sister minor, minor brother, father and mother. " ^[19]

Memorial

In the village of Skelani in 2005 erected a monument for 305 Serbian civilians who were killed during the war (1992–1995).^[20] Among the victims were 32 children.^[21] 2013 Bosniak presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic laid flowers at the monument to Serbian victims in Skelani.^[22]
