Sirkka Hämäläinen
Sirkka Hämäläinen (born 8 May 1939 in Riihimäki) is a Finnish economist, former governor of the Bank of Finland (1992–1998) and member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (1998–2003).[1]
Life
Hämäläinen studied economics with Bachelor of Science in 1961. 1981 Doctor of Science with The Savings Behaviour of Finnish Households: A Cross-Section Analysis of Factors Affecting the Rage of Saving. She is Former General Manager of the Bank of Finland and member of the Board of directors of the European Central Bank. In 2007 she has been chosen as the new chairperson of the Finnish National Opera Board.
