Shirley Jonetta Erwin McKellar (born October 5, 1947) is a current Democrat 2016 candidate from Texas's First Congressional District. Retired from the U.S. Army, Dr. McKellar spent 18 months in Iraq during the Iraq War. During which, she was injured and spent one year at Brooke Army Medical Center.[2]
