Sebastien is a Czech power metal band from Pardubice and Brno. The band was formed by George Rain in 2008.
Biography
Sebastien[1] origins date back to February 1999. The first real line-up appears under the name Calypso in December 1999.
Two years later the name is changed to Navar. In studio Dark the first CD Navar is recorded. Then the period of frequent concerts, recording the single Shine of Light and finally realization of the second CD Commotion occurs.
In summer 2004 the band goes to the studio again to present the new image of Navar. It is heavy metal EP Proti všem. In April 2006 the new CD 1621 is baptized and self-published, rewarded with many positive reviews and expanded to Japan.
In 2008 two members leave the group. Torso of Navar - the Rain brothers and Andy Mons - invited new members. The reborn band is named Sebastien.
In November 2009 the band goes to Grapow Studios to record the long expected album Tears of White Roses. The songs were originally written in Czech by George Rain and later rewritten in English by poet Jan Petričko. The music was written and arranged by George Rain and Andy Mons, and the album was produced by Roland Grapow.
The album was released in November 2010 via Escape Music.[2] Album shows off seven special guests.
Sebastien is on the first real tour (in the Czech Republic and Slovakia) during the autumn 2011. That same year, they appearance on the main "Ronnie James Dio Stage" of Masters of Rock festival in July 2012 with three notable guests artists on stage: Roland Grapow, Apollo Papathanasio and Katie Joanne.
As of 2012, keyboardist Victor Mazanek has left the band. He has been replaced by Pavel Dvořák of Warhawk. In 2012, Radek Rain also resigned, and has been replaced with Lukáš Říha.
In 2014 band plays the next big gig on Masters of RocK’s main stage – this time with Tony Martin (ex-Black Sabbath) as a special guest.
On November 2014 Sebastien goes to Grapow Studios again to finish the mix of the second album, which is called Dark Chambers of Déjà Vu. The album was released on September 25th, 2015. nearly five long years since their previous, under Pride & Joy Music record label.
