The only known species is Schlechtendalia luzulifolia, native to southern Brazil (Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay (Cerro Largo, Maldonado, Montevideo, Rocha), northern Argentina (Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos)
