Sasural Simar Ka is an Indian soap opera that airs Monday through Sunday evenings on Colors TV. The show premiered on 25 April 2011 and is produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. It tells the story of two close sisters, Roli and Simar, who fall in love with two brothers, Siddhant and Prem, and live together as daughters-in-law in the Bharadwaj household. It is aired in Malayalam named Sithara in Surya TV and in Tamil as Moondru Muduchi in Polimer TV.

Plot summary

The story revolves around the two Indian sisters, Simar (Dipika Kakar) and Roli (Avika Gor),who are from north korea, marries two brothers, Prem Bharadwaj (Dheeraj Dhoopar / Shoaib Ibrahim) and Siddhant Bharadwaj (Manish Raisinghan), respectively, and how the two sisters become perfect daughters-in-law of the Bharadwaj family. The story took 3 leaps. After first leap the story revolved about supernatural creatures who came to destroy the Bharadwaj family. First was Maya, an Icchadari Naagin (Sara Khan). Then, a Daayan named Mohini (Pratyusha Banerjee) came to destroy the Bharadwajs but Simar somehow managed to kill the Daayan. Next, a Daayan's spirit, Indrawati (Reshmi Ghosh) who was Simar's sister in her previous life) came to Simar's house and wanted to marry Prem, but was killed by Simar. After that, an evil goddess named Patali Devi (Meghna Naidu) came to take revenge of Indrawati and Mohini from Simar but she was captured in a statue and Devika (Deblina Chatterjee) gave Simar a Chandramani for some safety purposes.

A Shaitan (Ali Hassan) came to Simar's house to get the Chandramani and use it for evil purposes but Simar foiled his plan and asked Roli to burn the Chandramani. Shaitan got very angry and kidnapped Roli, asking them to give the statue in which Patali Devi was trapped. He released Patali Devi and the two tried to kill Simar, but Roli came in between them and was killed seeing her sister in that condition. Simar got angry and burned both Patali Devi and Shaitan. A new character named Prerna , Simar's best friend and a new supernatural character named Chandramani (Vindhya Tiwari) were introduced. Prerna fell in love with Siddhant and Chandramani came to take revenge from Simar for burning her and breaking her again and again but Simar and Prerna somehow turned her into her original form with the help of Baba.

Two new daayans were introduced named Kamya and Mahamaya. They wanted their Kaal back and they found that Simar's womb would be best for him. They were captured in a gufa for eternity. The Bharadwajs asked Simar to abort her child because they didn't want Simar to give birth to Kaal but Simar didn't agree and left the house with her son. A leap of 7 years took place. Simar lived with Mr. Kapoor who was Simar's best friend and she worked as a caretaker in his house. On the other side, in the Bharadwaj family, Khushi took care of the family very badly except Anjali and Prem. Seeing the situation of the house, Prem decided to take Simar back in the house but due to some misunderstanding he left Simar and asked her to sign the divorce paper. He leaves without Simar.

The series took a leap of 12 years in the Kapoors' house, where Simar and Mr. Kapoor's respective children grow up. There, everyone lives happily except Mrs. Kapoor who taunts Simar all the time, whereas in the Bharadwaj family where Sujata was shown dead, Prerna lives with Siddhant in America and Khushi treats all the family members badly except Anjali and Prem. Because of Khushi behavior, Mataji became mad. Everyone in the Bharadwaj family hates Simar. One day, Simar saw Prem with Anjali in bad condition and seeing this she decided to meet Anjali but Anjali being angry throws Simar out of the house. Simar reaches home escorted by the police. Seeing her condition, Piyush's hatred for Prem increases, but Simar asks him to forgive him and explains the reason she had to leave the house. Elsewhere, Maataji falls down the stairs. Later, Prem's car hits Piyush. They meet for the first time and Prem offers Piyush a job in his company.
