Samuel Wilson (born 26 April 1985) is an Australian ice hockey player currently playing for the Perth Thunder in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Wilson first played for the West Coast Flyers of the Western Australian Super League in 2001.[1][2] He continued to play for the Flyers exclusively until 2012 where he signed on with the Perth Thunder of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) for their debut season.[1] During his first season in the AIHL Wilson played in all 24 games of the season and scored eight points including two goals and six assists.[1]

Wilson was first called up to represent Australia in 2001, where he joined the national under-18 team to compete in the 2001 IIHF Asian Oceanic U18 Championship being held in Seoul, South Korea.[3] Australia finished third while Wilson record two goals in his three games of the tournament.[3] The following year Wilson was again selected to play for the national under-18 team at the 2002 IIHF Asian Oceanic U18 Championship in Auckland, New Zealand.[4] Australia improved on their result from last year, finishing second behind China and Wilson recorded nine points in his five games of the tournament.[4] In 2002 Wilson joined the national under-18 team for the last time to compete in the 2003 IIHF World U18 Championship Division III Group A tournament. Australia finished first while Wilson managed only one assist in his three games of the tournament.[5] In 2013 Wilson was selected for the national senior team to compete in the 2013 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Zagreb, Croatia. Australia finished the tournament in fourth place while Wilson recorded only a single assist in his five games.[6]
