Ryan Paul Colclough (born 27 December 1994) is an English footballer who currently plays as a winger for League One side Milton Keynes Dons, on loan from Championship side Wigan Athletic.

Career

Early years and breakthrough

Colclough was born in the town of Burslem in Stoke-on-Trent.[2] He started his career with Crewe Alexandra progressing through the academy to sign a two-year scolarship in the summer of 2011.[3] He was promoted to the first team in September 2012, after impressing in pre-season games and for the under-21's.[4] He made his professional debut for Crewe on 22 September 2012, in a 1–1 draw with Leyton Orient in Football League One, coming on as a substitute for Brendon Daniels.[5] He scored his first goal for the club on 26 January 2013, in a 3–1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth.[6] On 17 August, he scored twice in a 2–1 win against Tranmere Rovers.[7] After an unsuccessful trial with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday 6 August 2015 Colclough signed a new two-year contract with the club to take him through to the summer of 2017.[8]

Wigan Athletic

Colclough joined Wigan Athletic in January 2016.[9] Colclough scored his first goal for Wigan against Bury on 27 February 2016.[10]

Milton Keynes Dons (loan)

On 31 August 2016, Colclough joined League One side Milton Keynes Dons on a season-long loan.[11] On 10 September 2016, Colclough scored his first goal for Milton Keynes Dons, in a 1-1 draw away to Bolton Wanderers.[12]

On 24 September 2016, Colclough scored his first career hat-trick in a 1-4 away win over Fleetwood Town.[13]
