Rural Municipality of Alexander
Alexander (2006 Population 2,978) is a rural municipality in Manitoba, Canada. According to the Canada 2006 Census, this rural municipality, for the first time, had a population of over 1,000. [1] The town of Powerview-Pine Falls lies adjacent to the municipality, as does the Sagkeeng First Nation Indian reserve.
The R.M. contains all of Manitoba's Belair Provincial Forest in its westernmost part, plus the northern half of Brightstone Sand Hills Provincial Forest in its central part.
The R.M. was first incorporated as a Local Government District in 1945 and received its present status on 1 January 1997.
