Ruben Licera Jr

Ruben Batiancila Licera Jr (born May 17, 1980) is a multi-awarded blogger,^[1][2] digital marketer^[3] and a certified social media consultant^[4] from Cebu Philippines.^[5]

As a blogger, Ruben is one of the Anti-Cybercrime Law advocate in Cebu.^[6] He is also one of the leading social media authority in Cebu.^[7][8]

In 2013, he organized the first Social Media Influencers Summit (Philippines),^[9] and is the front runner of Social Good Summit Cebu.^[10] In 2014, he was awarded as the Social Media Advocate and the Blogger of the Year by Cebu Media Excellence Awards.^[11][12][13]

Personal Life

Ruben is married to Iren Sangre-Licera, whom he has two kids.

Academic Life

Ruben graduated AB Journalism from University of the Visayas and Masters in Business Administration from Southwestern University (Philippines).

Career and Business Life

He started his career as an advertising specialist for a manila-based adversiting agency in 2002. In 2004, he was hired full time as Marketing Specialist for International Advertising and Public relations for Cebu International Furniture and Furnishings Exhibition.^{[14][15][16][17][18]}

Community Organizing Life

Mr. Licera is involved in different non-profit organizations. He actively contributes his time and skills in improving the digital skill sets of the Cebuanos.

Google Developers Group (GDG) Cebu

Ruben is the first Google Developers Group (GDG) Cebu - Community Manager. Through the community, Licera was able to organize the following events:

• GDG Devfest Cebu (2012, 2013, 2014)
• Google I/O Extended Cebu(2012, 2013, 2014)
• Google MapUp Cebu
• Software Freedom Day Cebu^[19]

Licera had helped to organize the first GDG Devfest, Crisis Mapping on Typhoon Yolanda, Cebu-Bohol Earthquake Situationer Crisis Mapping,

Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc.

Ruben had served for more than 4 years, in different capacity, the southern Philippines oldest blogging society Cebu Bloggers Society. During his term he had organized the following:

• Cebu Bloggers Awards (2013)^[27]
• World Blogger's Day^[28]
• Social Good Summit - Cebu^[29]

Cebu Blogging Community

In 2014, Mr. Licera, together with Bjornson Bernales, Channel Imperial, Gay Aida Dumaguing and Mary Narvasa, started Cebu Blogging Community. With this organization, they have organized the Cebu Blogging Summit -- an annual event where they showcase bloggers experiences, and success stories.
