Ross Young (politician)
Ross Young (born March 20, 1962) is a financial advisor and former political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Kings in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1991 to 1996 as a Liberal.
He was born in Souris, Prince Edward Island, the son of Ross "Johnny" Young and Helen Rae MacLean, and was educated at Mount Allison University and the University of Prince Edward Island. Young managed a retail store for several years and then was an account executive at the Atlantic Television Network. In 1994, he married Mary Rita Sullivan. Young was elected to the provincial assembly in an 1991 by-election held following the death of his father. In 1994, Young introduced a private member's bill reorganizing the provincial electoral districts. He was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1996 in the new riding of Souris-Elmira.
