Roland Riem
The Revd Canon Dr Roland Riem is a Church of England clergyman, currently serving as acting Dean of Winchester from July 2016 until the installation of Catherine Ogle in February 2017.
He previously worked as Senior Chaplain at the University of Nottingham and as Director of Ministry at the Southern Theological Education and Training Scheme (STETS), Salisbury, before moving to Winchester Cathedral in 2005, where he was appointed Vice-Dean in 2013.

Roland Riem is a trustee of various charities and institutions, including Hampshire and the Isles Historic Churches Trust, The Murray Bequest, Footprints Project, Winchester Street Pastors, Royal British Legion (Padre), Keystone Project (Churches' Housing Charity) and others. He is a foundation Governor at the University of Winchester, and for eleven years was a Foundation Governor of Peter Symonds College.
He has an academic interest in spirituality, education and the interplay of visual art, faith and meaning.
Publications include Stronger than Death (DLT, 1993), numerous articles and booklets on Spirituality, including The Soul in Leadership: Insights from Aelred's Pastoral Prayer (Grove, 2005), articles in The British Journal of Theological Education and the Clinical Theology Association, Meditations in Icons of the Incarnation (Canterbury Press, 2008), a book he wrote with his wife, the artist Sophie Hacker and contributions to Ecclesiology (2006), The Dictionary of Spirituality (SCM, 2005) and others.
