"Rigby's Graduation Day Special" is the 38th and 39th episode of season seven and the 229th and 230th episode overall, and is also the season finale. It aired on June 30, 2016 on Cartoon Network.
This episode ended on a cliffhanger, and is a lead-in to the next season, taking place in space.
Plot
After receiving all of his need credits to graduate, Rigby is given the task of giving a speech on a live TV show "Inspire America". During the process, the scientists at the park are packing up and are ready to leave, including Pam, Benson's new girlfriend. Everyone else is setting up everything up for Rigby's graduation party. During the setup, Mordecai feels jealous that Rigby's turning out a bigger success than him, leading to them having a fallout. Eileen is also graduating from college in the same day. After talking, Mordecai and Rigby make up and Rigby gives a successful speech.
Later, the park workers are called to the dome, they are given instructions to press the button. They press the button all together, and all of the exits shut and the park starts to rise up. They go up and they see all of their loved one on the ground. Everyone crowds the crater and start freaking out, Starla, Margaret and Pam cry out to Muscle Man, Mordecai and Benson. They are now all into space surrounded by darkness with a far view of earth. Eileen, who has been inside the whole time, comes out and is shocked by what she sees. They are now seen floating away

Production
During a press interview by Bubbleblabber, Quintel confirmed that during the season a special, "wintery-themed" episode would air later in the year and that the season seven finale would be a half-hour special titled "Rigby's Graduation Day Special" that would change the course of the series.[1]
This was the final episode to be storyboarded by Toby Jones, who left the show to become supervising director for shorts from the Cartoon Network game OK KO!; and the last episode for outline writer Michele Cavin, who to write for Future-Worm! on Disney XD.
