The Regent Shopping Centre is an indoor shopping mall located in the centre of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. The centre is distinct from The Regent Centre, a shopping centre in Kirkintilloch.

History

The shopping centre was built in 1965. In 1998/99, a £9 million redevelopment converted the mall into an indoor shopping facility. This was to ensure it would still be a popular choice for shoppers for years to come.

Hamilton itself is a principal shopping destination, located to the south-east of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. The town has a population of around 50,000, with a population of around 350,000 living within 10 kilometres (6.2 mi).

Accessibility

The centre lies 150 metres away from Hamilton bus station and also has a bus stop on Duke Street at the Duke St door into the centre, so can be easily accessible by bus. Also, Hamilton Central train station is also the same distance away from the shopping mall, offering services to and from Glasgow Central.

Also, next to the centre, is the smaller New Cross Shopping Centre.
