Real (Hangul: 리얼; RR: Rieol) is an upcoming South Korean action thriller and noir film directed by Lee Sa-rang and starring Kim Soo-hyun, Sung Dong-il and Lee Sung-min. The film is expected to be released in the first half of 2017 in South Korea and China.[1][2][3][4][5]

Plot

Story about a colorful city controlled by the underworld, where a troubleshooter, Jang Tae-yeong (Kim Soo-hyun) who is good at dealing with 'dark business' solves all requests, but things change for him after he meets a former detective reporter, No Yeom (Lee Gyung-young).[6]

On October 12, 2015, it was reported that Alibaba Pictures invested in the film, and that the company signed the agreement at the 20th Busan International Film Festival.[12] On October 26, 2015 Paradise Group announced they will invest $8 billion won ($7 million) in the movie, which will be filmed in the corporation's all inclusive resort, Paradise City.[13][14] The film's shooting was reported to start in October 2015, but it was pushed back because of the work out of the investments. Filming began on January 3, 2016 and finished on June 30, 2016 in Paradise City, Yeongjongdo, Incheon, South Korea.[15][16][17] Kim Soo-hyun filmed the additional sessions in late August 2016. The actor will take part in the post-production of Real, such as voice recording.[18]The director Lee Jung-sub has dropped out of the film and was replaced by Lee Sa-rang, owner of the movie company Real SPC.[19]
