Rao Rura Singh

The state of Rewari was carved out of a jungle-jagir by Ruda Singh, an Ahir noble of Tijara, who obtained it in 1555 from the Mughal Emperor Humayun for rendering meritorious services during the later's encounter with the Surs.[1][2][3][4] Ruda Singh had his headquarters located at Bolni, a small village, 12 km south-east of Rewari.[5] He cleared the jungle and founded new villages.[6][7]
