Raja Ram Pandey was an Indian politician from the Samajwadi Party. He was three term member of legislative assembly and had also represented Vishwanathganj (also spell as Bishnathganj) assembly constituency of Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh. he was in Cabinet of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's government.[1] On 15 April 2013, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has passed order to drop Rajaram Pandey from the minister post following his remarks in public meetings which caused opposition for women.[2]

Career

Raja Ram Pandey began his career from the political party Janata Dal and elected first time as member of legislative assembly in 1996. Later he won as a candidate of Ram Vilas Paswan s'outfit Lok Janshakti Party in the 2002 Uttar Pradesh assembly election.[3]

He lost in 2007 assembly election as a Samajwadi Party candidate and in 2012 Raja Ram won election from Vishwanathganj Vishan Sabha in Pratapgarh.

He died on 31 October 2013 following a heart attack.

Cabinet minister

In 2012, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav's son Akhilesh Yadav become chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Raja Ram Pandey is in his Cabinet as minister of Khaadi and village industry.
