Pyrausta inornatalis is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Fernald in 1885.[1] It is found in United States, where it has been recorded from Arizona, California, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.[2] It is also found in Mexico.[3]
The wingspan is about 13 mm. The forewings are uniform light vinous red or reddish pink. The hindwings are pale fuscous, but paler at the base and with vinous red along the outer margin.[4] Adults have been recorded on wing from March to November.
The larval feed on Salvia species, including Salvia farinacea.[5]
