Psalm 97
Psalm 97 (Greek numbering: Psalm 96) is one of the psalms in the biblical Book of Psalms. One of the Royal Psalms, Psalm 93-99, praising God as the King of His people.
Uses
Judaism
- Is the third paragraph of Kabbalat Shabbat.[1]
- Is recited on the third to the sixth days of Sukkot.[2]
- Verse 1 is found in the repetition of the Amidah during Rosh Hashanah.[3]
Musical settings
Czech composer Antonín Dvořák set verses 2-6 to music in No. 1 of his Biblical Songs (1894).
